What is a rebrand?
By Jose Santiago Mateos, founder of AsesMarket · Updated October 2026
A rebrand is the renewal of an existing brand: you review what works and what doesn't, and update the strategy, the visual identity and sometimes the name. Unlike creating a brand from scratch, the challenge is to change without losing what customers already recognise. It usually combines brand strategy and visual identity.

Who it's for

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about rebranding, no small print.
01How much does a rebrand cost?
It depends on how much needs to change and how many pieces need renewing. After the first call we give you a fixed price that includes the audit, the new identity, the brand manual and the transition plan.
02How long does it take?
About five weeks from the diagnosis to the transition plan. Your total time commitment is about four hours.
03What's the difference between a rebrand and redesigning the logo?
A redesign only changes the logo. A rebrand also reviews the positioning, the messages and how the brand is applied everywhere. If you only need the logo, take a look at visual identity.
04Will I lose customers?
That's exactly what we look after: we decide what stays so people keep recognising you, and we plan how to announce the change.
05Do I have to change the name?
Not necessarily. Most rebrands keep the name. If it does need changing, we work on it through our naming service.
06When is a good time for a rebrand?
When you open new premises, change your website, expand your services or feel your image no longer represents you.
07Do you also handle the signage and the website?
We hand over the plan and the designs for each piece. If you like, we can also take care of the website and the printing: we'll discuss it on the first call.
08What if I just want to modernise my image a little?
That's possible too. Sometimes it's enough to adjust the logo and tidy up the colours. We'll look at it on the first call.
09What do I need to provide?
About four hours in total: the diagnosis, signing off the positioning and the handover, plus reviewing the identity over two rounds of changes.
10Do you work in Catalan?
Yes. We work in Spanish and Catalan, and deliver everything in whichever language you prefer.
Shall we refresh your brand?
Tell us what has changed in your business and in 30 minutes we'll tell you how we'd approach it.
